The WOW Awards winners

The Women of Waterloo Region Awards were handed out last night at the Waterloo Inn.

The WOW awards recognize local women for their talent, and work they do in the community.

Each of the five winners recognized their guest of honour — a woman who has made a difference in their life.

The 2011 WOW winners are:

For Entrepreneur: Robin Todd- President and CEO of Marks Supply

For Education: Ruth Russell – President of the Canadian Federation of University
Women.

The WOW winner for Creative Arts: Paula White Diamond- owner of the Paula White Diamond Art Gallery and Design Studio.

The Community Engagement winner this year: Christina Weylie. former councillor in Kitchener.

The Science and Technology winner : Michelle Pandey – recognized for her work in heart health

The WOW awards evening was in support of the United Way.
