Less golfers this year

The number of golfers on the green is down drastically — compared to this time last year.
That’s according to Shawn Evans, the President of Golf North Properties, which has 6 courses in Kitchener-Waterloo.
Evans says the wet weather has hurt business, and is looking forward to a ‘healthy summer.’ Evans says last year was an early and mild spring, perfect conditions for the sport.
Despite today’s less-than-ideal conditions, Evans says they are busy at Conestoga Golf Club today.
He says he’s a bit surprised by that, but is happy that people still want to get out and play.
