Trek 4 Kids

Today is the 5th annual Trek for Kids as put on by the House of Friendship in conjunction with the United Way.

The event was started two years ago when two brothers, Eric and Kevin Martin, walked 850 Km to help send kids to camp.

It costs an average of about $500 to send one child to camp and todays goal is to send at least 100 kids to camp this summer, or raise $50,000.

They don’t expect everyone to walk as far as the Martins, so they have shortened the trek to 5, 9, or 23 Km along the iron horse trail by bike or on foot.
