Gas prices headed down in parts of Canada, including Waterloo Region, overnight. Prices went down about six cents a litre after jumping about eight cents over two days.
Today’s decrease comes after gasoline futures and oil prices tumbled on Wall Street Wednesday to drag down the price of oil below US$100 a barrel.
One industry watcher says any lasting relief from wild price swings could take months to trickle down to the pump.
Meanwhile, Ottawa is about to weigh in on gasoline prices. Federal Industry Minister Tony Clement will comment on the issue today.
