Thanks to skyrocketing gas prices, The President of Heffner Toyota says more drivers are interested in hybrid vehicles. John Heffner says the price of gas has increased the demand for hybrids, as people search for a more fuel efficient vehicle.
However, because of the situation in Japan, the company is still dealing with a product supply issue.
On the bright side, Heffner says production is expected to approach normal levels in June on the Corolla and Matrix, which are two of their more fuel-efficient cars.
He says hybrid vehicles, like the Prius, get about 71 miles per gallon — compare that with 35 per gallon — and you could save up to $1,300.
