BC Lions getting ready for Sunday’s CFL Canadian draft

VANCOUVER B.C (NREWS1130) sports – The BC Lions are getting ready for Sunday’s Canadian Football League Canadian draft. The Lions have the third overall pick in round one.
General Manager Wally Buono has told News1130 Sports that he is talking to two teams about trading the pick and moving down in the draft and if he is unsuccessful, he will keep the pick and select a player.
Buono says there are a lot of quality receivers available early in the draft, Anthony Parker and Nate Coehoorn of the Calgary Dinos and Marco Iannuzzi of Harvard are available.
Buouno also has interest in St. Francis Xavier linebacker Henoc Muamba, who is the brother of current Lion defensive back Cauchy. Henoc is ranked third by the CFL’s Scouting Bureau, but could go higher.
The Lions have had more first round draft picks (9) than any team in the CFL since 2006 but only four selections are still on their roster and offensive lineman Dean Valli is the lone remaining starter. Valli, Jon Hameister-Ries, and receiver Paris Jackson are the remaining draft starters on the Lions in the eight years that Bouno has had the job in Vancouver.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have the first over-all selection followed by the Edmonton Eskimos then the Lions. The draft starts at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
