Two dead in Guelph stand-off

The Special Investigations Unit is looking into what happened on Alice Street in Guelph that left two men dead.
Guelph Police were called out to a disturbance at 199 Alice Street yesterday, around 2:30 p.m.
Police found two injured males and rushed them both to hospital, where one of them, a 58-year old Guelph male was pronounced deceased.
The second, a 55-year old Cambridge man was treated for his injuries and released.
Police called in the tactical unit to Alice Street and asked the public to stay away, and for anyone living within a thousand metres of the house to stay inside their homes.
Sgt. Doug Pflug tells 570 News the situation posed “a serious public safety risk.”
After a six-hour standoff, the tactical officers entered the residence and found a 45 year
old male dead.
Police say their preliminary investigation shows all three men were known to each other.
The SIU is looking into what happened now, and Guelph Police can not make any further comment.
