A Cambridge man who works as a driver for a Mississauga towing company won’t be on the road for three days after a run in with Guelph Police.
Yesterday evening around 6:30 a member of the Guelph Police Traffic Services Unit observed a tow truck on Willow Road near the Hanlon Expressway.
This truck was towing a car that was resting on the “cradle” with no second means of attachment to prevent it from separating from the tow truck.
When the officer pulled the tow truck over on the Hanlon Expressway to check out the safety of the vehicle, the officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the breath of the driver.
An roadside breathalyzer test indicated a blood alcohol concentration in the “warn range”.
The 43-year old Cambridge male had his privilege to operate a motor vehicle suspended for a period of 72 hours, and was also charged for the bad hook-up of the vehicle he was towing.
