Countdown to Earth Hour

An hour without power is basically the idea behind Earth Hour. Today hundreds of millions of people around the world will turn their lights off for an hour at 8:30 pm. This is in an effort to demand continued action on climate change.
Kitchener is holding their own Earth Hour. Earth Hour Kitchener is a free, family-friendly outdoor party. The event starts at 7:30 tonight and will include live music and entertainment. There will be non-electronic games for kids to play as well.
Residents will also be able to pick up a free Earth Hour Spring Events Calendar. It is filled with local events where people can learn about Sustainable Living and get involved with environmental initiatives.
At 8:29 everyone will count down to Earth Hour. Once Earth Hour starts, lights at Kitchener City Hall and Victoria Park will be turned off.
