Cambridge Libraries and Gallaries Launch New Look

Cambridge Libraries and Galleries is letting the community know they are undergoing a major transformation and its starting off with a new ad campaign.

“Traditionally people think of libraries as a place with dusty old books and technology and what we are trying to do here is redefine our image in the community,” said spokesperson Leona El-Hage.

The new ads boast the slogan “we can help with that” and feature residents within the community.

“The idea is we have everything you need,” said El-Hage. “If you are a new parent and need help taking care of a child, we have resources to help you with that.”

The library is tossing old school rules. Now they’re allowing patrons to eat and drink at the library or plug into some free WiFi.

“You can do here what you do at a Chapters or Indigo without the pressure to buy anything.” Said El-Hage.

Library staff will wear neck ties with the new brand “Ideas|Unlimited” as well as name tags so they can be easily spotted.

An event is being held to celebrate the library’s transformation and the ad launch on Wednesday, March 16th, from 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the Cambridge Library, Queens Square, 1 North Square in Cambridge.

Entertainment for the event includes a performance from Cambridge Cheer Sport Sharks followed by a dance by So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s Everett Smith.
