3rd Annual Brain Bee

The third annual brain bee kicks off today at the University of Waterloo.

The kinesiology department allows area students from Grade 9-12 to take part in the contest. First place is a 4-hundred dollar prize.

Today’s winner will then compete at McMaster University. That finalist will travel to Florence Italy to compete in the final leg of the Compton.

Coordinator, Aimee Nelson says it’s a great way to get young people involved in neuroscience.

To prepare for the test, students use Brain Facts, a primer on the brain and nervous system published by the Society for Neuroscience.
