Students homeless after fire

No injuries were reported in a fire this morning in the Doon area of Kitchener that’s left nine students without a home.

Kitchener Fire Department officials tell 570 News there was a fire call out a duplex at 24 Amherst. The fire started in the basement area.

We’re told the nine will be out of their home for a few weeks.

The Red Cross has been called in to help.

Damage is set at $50,000 and the investigation is focusing on a electrical cause.
