Sentence in air-gun spree

The second person in a shooting spree with a high-powered air rifle has been sentenced to three months of house arrest.

James Moffitt was the driver when he and a friend went out in a car to shoot at people walking or cycling in Cambridge.

Eight victims were hit with pellets during the 90-minute incident one afternoon in April, including one who had a baseball-sized welt.

The court heard that some victims were terrified after they saw the rifle and thought they were being shot by a real gun.

The other man, Christopher Mandarino, pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon and was given a six-month conditional sentence of house arrest.
