GO Transit is trying to allay the concerns of some Kitchener residents who fear idling commuter trains will disrupt their neighbourhood.
This morning’s Record reports GO has released a study it says predicts the idling trains will actually be quieter than allowed by the province.
The plan, once the train service is expanded to Kitchener next year, is to park the trains overnight in an area between Park and King streets.
An open house on the study and neighbourhood concerns will be held tomorrow at the DeGroote School of Medicine on Victoria Street South from 5 to 8pm.
