Winter is back

Winter weather is back in southern Ontario, and some parts of the province are in for a nasty blast today and into tomorrow.
Much of southern Ontario is covered under a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada and some are under a snow squall warning, including Woodstock, Oxford County and Stratford.
One particularly bad area is a stretch taking in Strathroy, London, St. Thomas and up to Grand Bend and Owen Sound where up to 60 centimetres or two feet of snow could fall by tomorrow.
Poor driving conditions early last evening resulted in numerous crashes along the 401 and the closure of a stretch of the highway around London.
It has since re-opened.
570 News weather specialist John Wilson says Waterloo Region will likely get off easy, compared to those areas, but there’s still the potential of 10 centimetres of snow between today, tonight and tomorrow.
Brisk winds will make matters worse causing poor visibility and wind chills of minus 15.
Toronto, also not expecting as much snow as the squall areas, but blowing snow could be an issue at times.
