New help for autism

A new tool for local families trying to cope with Autism.
The Autism Spectrum Connection will be officially launched this afternoon.
Those behind the effort say it’s much more than just a website, but rather it’s an online community that provides a place for discussion and easy access to various resources.
The website was developed with input from various community groups including KidsAbility, KidsLink and Lutherwood.

The launch coincides with today being the International Day for Persons with a Disability.
Also at today’s event is a cheque presentation from the Ontario Trillium Foundation for the New Story Group, which links five local organizations.
It will get just over $122,000.
