Judge orders stop to protest

A judge has ordered aboriginals to stop protests at development projects in Brantford that they claim are being built on unsurrendered land.

Justice Harrison Arrell upheld a Brantford bylaw last week and ordered protesters and their supporters to “cease and desist.”

He has also upheld a city bylaw to halt the Haudenosaunee Development Institute from collecting fees for permitting developments to proceed on the sites.
