Drivers in Guelph can toot their own horns today: they are the most improved drivers in the province when it comes to collision rates.
According to a three year study by Allstate Insurance, claims from collisions are down 19.4 per cent in Guelph, the biggest decrease in the 50 communities examined.
Woodstock drivers also have reason to by happy today: their city has the third-lowest collision rate at 3.2 per cent of vehicles; only Belleville and Welland had better rates.
Kitchener ranked 25th safest in the fifty-city study; Cambridge took the 28th spot; Waterloo was not included.
According to the Allstate study, Brampton had the highest collision rate, at a 6.1 per cent.
And amazingly enough, the safest city in last year’s study by Allstate, St. Thomas, has since shown a 33.8 per cent increase in collisions.
