Flight by disguise

The federal Conservatives say there’ll be a full investigation into how a young man got onto an Air Canada flight in Hong Kong wearing a disguise.

Government House leader John Baird says he’s glad authorities apprehended the young man, but more questions need to be asked.

Baird says the fact that it happened is of “deep concern” to the government.

The young Asian man managed to board an Air Canada flight in Hong Kong while elaborately disguised as an elderly Caucasian male.

He is now seeking refugee status in Vancouver.

Liberal foreign affairs critic Bob Rae says he finds the incident weird.

Border services officials have reported they believe the young man managed to get on the plane with nothing more than an Aeroplan card and a boarding pass belonging to a 55-year-old American man.
