Advance polls open today

It’s voting day in several municipalities in Waterloo Region.
Advance polls for the upcoming municipal elections are being held today in the cities of Waterloo and Cambridge as well as Wilmot Township.
In Waterloo, residents will be voting for more than just city and regional council and school board members.
They also have a couple of separate items on their ballots: whether they support discussions with Kitchener on a potential merger and whether the region should continue to fluoridate their tap water.
Today’s advance poll in Waterloo runs from 10 am to 6 pm in the centre court at Conestoga Mall.
City Clerk Susan Greatrix tells 570 News you will need to show ID with your name, address and signature to vote.
She says voting cards were mailed out this week, but if you didn’t receive yours yet you can still cast a ballot with proper ID.
There are several other advance polls in that city in the coming weeks.
