More charges laid

An additional charge has been laid against a Cambridge man accused of several sexual offences.

Regional Police say 48-year-old Chesley Petten is now charged with sexual exploitation for an alleged incident involving someone under the age of 16 dating back to 1995.

He’d already been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation for alleged incidents between 1993 and 2007 and involving victims between the ages of 8 and 15.

Police say Petten “held a position of trust and authority in a Cambridge place of worship and education where he befriended the victims and their families.”

A bail hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
