Fatal crash

STRATFORD, Ont. – A 93-year-old woman has died after a car struck a tractor-trailer on a rural road in southwestern Ontario.

Provincial police say the car hit the rig from behind as the truck was making a turn in Perth County on Thursday evening.

A passenger in the car, Bessie Gadke, of Palmerston, Ont., died after being taken to Stratford General Hospital.

The car driver, 79-year-old Hazel Tomlin, of Harriston, remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver was not injured.
