Despite some reports to the contrary, at this weekend’s Blues festival in downtown Kitchener, By-Law Enforcement says it was a fairly quiet weekend for handing out tickets.
Kitchener’s Director of By-Law Enforcement Shayne Turner tells 570 News his officers were well aware which parking lots were designated for festival use, but they were also keeping an eye out for safety issues and vehicles that blocked or disrupted traffic.
Turner says on average Friday about 40 tickets were written in the downtown core and last Friday just 30 tickets were issued.
He adds anyone who thinks they were unfairly penalized can call his office to discuss the ticket.
