80 WRPS officers at G20

80 Waterloo Regional Police officers are back home, after spending the weekend in Toronto assisting with G20 Summit security.
Inspector Greg Lamport tells 570’s Jeff Allan Show the officers helped in a number of areas including traffic officers assisting with motorcades and mounted officers helping the Toronto Police Mounted Unit.
Lamport says the local officers went in well prepared. He says they went through a lot of video from previous summits to understand what they might face, and eventually did face.
Lamport says he’s proud of the work our local officers did, saying it was difficult at times, but overall the officers did a great job despite the challenges they faced.
