RIM’s 1st quarter

Waterloo-based Research In Motion saw a 24 per cent increase in its first quarter revenue compared to 2009.

RIM earned US$768.9 million.

The company says it added about 4.9 million net new BlackBerry subscribers in the quarter to bring the total subscriber base to 46 million.

RIM expects revenue between $4.4 billion and $4.6 billion for its second quarter.
