Fatal crash in Wilmot Township

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on the Oxford-Waterloo Road in the Township of Wilmot.

On Tuesday at approximately 11:44 p.m., the driver of a 1994 Lincoln was heading westbound on Oxford-Waterloo Road when he lost control and went off the road. The car rolled several times and the driver was ejected.  There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

A person in the vicinity heard the collision and contacted police. Emergency services responded and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was taken to Grand River Hospital where a post mortem examination has been scheduled.

Police have identified the deceased as 59 year old Christopher Cameron of Caledon, Ontario.

Police are investigating the collision and are probing the possibility that alcohol and improper seat belt use may have been factors.
