Small fire at Elements

Fire trucks descended on a downtown Kitchener landmark this morning.

Kitchener Fire Department, Platoon Chief, Kevin Karley, tells 570 News they responded to the Elements night club around 10:15 this morning after getting a call about smoke coming from the roof.

Karley says it was nothing serious: they found some burning embers behind the facade wall facing King St., behind the “Element” sign.

Karley tells 570 News at the scene, it’s too early to know what caused the burning in the first place.

He says there’s no estimate on damages yet, but he doesn’t believe it would be too serious.
