Former Blue Jays Ace, Roy Halladay pitched a stunner last night.
Now the lead man for the Philadelphia Phillies, Halladay retired all 27 batters he faced to pitch a perfect game against the Florida Marlins.
It was the 20th perfect game in Major League history and the first for the Phillies since Jim Bunning in 1964.
Earlier this month Oakland’s Dallas Braden pitched a perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Halladay’s nine innings of perfection sets a modern era record for the only time there has been a pair of perfect games in the same season.
He struck out 11 and threw 115 pitches.
The Marlins even gave him the pitching rubber as a souvenir.
