The City of Waterloo celebrates on a couple of fronts today.
It’s marking the community’s 153rd birthday as well as the first anniversary of the Uptown Public Square.
What’s being called a special “Heritage Day” celebration runs from two until four this afternoon at the Public Square.
Tracy Suerich, the city’s Public Square Program Coordinator tells 570 News there are plenty of activities planned including no shortage of entertainment.
She says it’s been exciting to watch how the public has come around to supporting the square over the past year.
She says regular and varied events have brought more people out, and the addition of the skating rink this past winter made it a year-round venue.
