A humidex above 30 is expected once again today, and like yesterday many people will be getting outside to take advantage of the beautiful weather.
Once again shorts, skirts, and sandals will all be the clothing of choice for many as they head out the front door, but the Region’s Director of healthy living, planning and promotion, Sharlene Hedgwick-Walsh, tells 570 news you need to be sun-smart on days like this.
Keep an eye on the U-V index, drink lots of fluids – especially if you’re planning on being active, and don’t forget to keep your pets hydrated as well.
Hedgwick-Walsh also recommends that if you are headed out the door for any length of time today – wear sunscreen with an S-P-F of 30 or more along with sunglasses, a hat – and once again – remember to drink lots of fluids.
