The City of Kitchener is kicking around the idea of allowing booze to be served earlier when June’s World Cup starts in South Africa.
Games will be shown live here at 7:30 and 10-am, as well as 2-pm.
Kitchener council moved a motion last night to allow
alcohol to be served an hour earlier at pubs and bars during the month-long tournament.
Councillor Berry Vrbanovic tells 570 News they would still need approval from the province.
The owner of the Duke of Wellington in Waterloo thinks his city council should get behind a motion like this as well.
Toronto decided last month to allow bars to open an hour earlier during the World Cup.
