Measures to keep a raccoon out of an attic likely sparked a blaze in Kitchener.

Kitchener Fire Department officials believe the heat given off by an halogen light is what started the fire.

Damage to the Tara Crescent home is 100 thousand dollars.

The homeowner had set up the light and radio to stop raccoons from entering the attic.

No one was injured.
