Waterloo Regional councillors have voted themselves a modest pay hike.

They gave the okay to a recommendation from the Citizens Advisory Committee on Council Compensation.

The increase is 0.4% and still leaves them well behind what their Kitchener counterparts earn.

CTV reports city councillors in Kitchener earn roughly $10,000 more a year.
