Three avalanches in over a week in BC

There’s been a third fatal avalanche in just over a week in British Columbia.
The R-C-M-P says two heli-skiers from France were killed by a snowslide near Valemount.
The unidentified victims, aged 65 and 19, were among a group of 12 skiers.
On Friday, a massive snowslide near Revelstoke, killed a 30-year-old from Calgary.
Down the road, two other men from Alberta were killed by an avalanche a week ago yesterday.
The Mounties say those avalanches were triggered by snowmobilers racing up mountains.
Greg Johnson with the Canadian Avalanche Centre says in each case, a large group of people went snowmobiling and exposed themselves to the risk of an avalanche.
He says for 40 years, avalanche awareness classes have been teaching people to go into a slide-prone area one at a time so others can rescue them if necessary.
