Operation “Project St. Patrick’s”

Waterloo Regional Police launched a St. Patrick’s Day RIDE program at noon.

The RIDE checks will run into Thursday morning.

It’s aimed at getting those in the St. Patty’s Day spirit home safely by a taxi, bus, or designated driver.

Last year, police dealt with large crowds out celebrating in the core areas.

Superintendent Bryan Larkin tells 570 News their approach is that just one drink is too many to drive.

If you blow a “warn” on a roadside test, you’ll lose your license for three days.
