Ontario changing doctor recruitment

The province has revamped its doctor recruitment program.
It could eventually bring more doctors to urban centres like Kitchener and Waterloo.
The announcement was made today by Kitchener Centre MPP John Milloy.
The program is called the HealthForceOntario Postgraduate Return of Service Program.
It will allow medical graduates trained outside of Canada to fulfill their postgraduate return of service commitments in any community in Ontario (except the
Toronto area and Ottawa).
Milloy tells 570 News Waterloo Region has a way of life that is second to none, but up until today we were excluded from this opportunity.
He says the changes will increase access to family
physicians and other specialists.
