Plug pulled on Kiwanis wading pool upgrade

A plan to upgrade the outdoor wading pool in Kiwanis Park has been nipped in the bud.
A funding mix up among the city and provincial and federal governments means the project can’t meet a March 2011 completion deadline to qualify for funding.
Thursday’s Record reports that the City of Kitchener had hoped to tap into federal and provincial programs for the $2-million overhaul, but say months were lost getting confirmation on how much money would roll into the city for upgrades.
The city currently has 16 stimulus projects underway, worth $37.6-million.
Kitchener will now look at moving the project onto their 10-year improvement plan.
