The increasingly heated debate over whether Kitchener and Waterloo should enter into merger talks lands in the laps of Waterloo City Councillors tomorrow night.
They’re expected to vote on whether or not to ask the province to include a question on this fall’s municipal election ballot asking voters if they support entering into discussions with the City of Kitchener. Kitchener City Council has already voted in favour of doing just that.
Waterloo City Councillor Karen Scian tells 570 News, she’s getting very mixed reviews from constituents. Some are telling her they support the question being posed, others say no, while still others want more information.
She says she’s had dozens of responses – mostly emails – but also phone calls and people stopping her to talk when she’s in town.
