U.S. President Barack Obama says the foiled Christmas Day airliner attack exposed “a potentially disastrous” security failure.
He says the U.S. intelligence community had enough information to connect the dots ahead of time – but failed to do so.
The president spoke after a White House meeting Tuesday with the high-ranking government officials charged with carrying out two reviews.
A plan for new security measures will include more explosive detection teams and additional air marshals on flights.
