Fewer people charged in Festive RIDE

Waterloo Regional Police have released the statistics from this year’s Festive RIDE program and it shows more vehicles were checked, with fewer suspensions.
The number of vehicles stopped more than doubled from 5 to 10 thousand.
Two twelve-hour suspensions were issued, compared to 55 last year.
18 3-day suspensions and one 7-day suspensions were handed out.
Just over 100 roadside tests were conducted, down from 131 in 2008.
71 were committed under the Highway Traffic Act, down from 113 last year.
