More than two years after a murder that shocked our community the man accused will appear in a Kitchener court today.
23-year-old Trevor Lapierre is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 74-year-old Hunter Brown.
Brown was stabbed to death on December 15th, 2007 as he made his annual rounds delivering Christmas cards to his neighbours.
Brown was a retired Bell Canada district manager and was well-known for his kindness and gentlemanly manner.
Lapierre is also accused of assaulting a second man, Corey Speck, two days after Brown was killed.
35-year-old Speck managed to fight his attacker off with a snow shovel.
