Apartment fire in Waterloo

An apartment building on Bridgeport Road East in Waterloo was partially evacuated late yesterday after a report of smoke in the building. Police say no one was hurt and there was no damage. They say the smoke was simply due to food being overcooked.

Meantime, authorities are still trying to figure out what sparked a New Year’s Day fire in Woolwich Township. The blaze destroyed a shed and vehicle on New Jerusalem Road.
