Waterloo man pleads guilty to criminal negligence causing death

47 year old Peter Bernard Fonteece made the plea in superior court yesterday. Fonteece stood by while his wife committed suicide in a Thunder Bay hotel room earlier this year. In February, Peter and his wife Yanisa left Waterloo after Peter was unable to work. The pair were headed west when their car broke down in Thunder Bay. The court hear that the couple made a suicide pact, and that Peter watched while his wife swollowed nearly 60 sleeping pills. Peter Fonteece will be sentenced in February.
