Talks in Copenhagen appear to be deadlocked

Prospects don’t look good in Copenhagen, where negotiators from Canada and more than 190 other countries are trying to reach a deal to trim greenhouse gas emissions.

Talks appear to be deadlocked, in part over how to help poor countries hurt by global warming.

However, some conference observers say there’s still time to reach a stripped-down deal before the meeting ends Tomorrow. 

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is due to arrive at the summit today, while President Obama is due to arrive tomorrow.
