Police shutdown illegal pot shop

By Blair Adams

Three people are facing charges after police shutdown an illegal cannabis shop in Cambridge.

It's the second time the shop has been busted since March.

The most recent bust was made Wednesday by members of the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team of the Ontario Provincial Police, along with Waterloo Regional Police.

Officers seized cannabis, Shatter, Butane honey, ledgers and cash.

24-year-old Christine Qaqish and 35-year-old Crystal Ann Cauallo, both of Cambridge, face charges including possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, as well as possession of property obtained by crime.

Both were released and will appear in court at a later date.

51-year-old George Pearce of Hamilton faces similar charges and was held for a bail hearing.

Two residents of Cambridge were also arrested in the bust that was carried out in early March.

OPP say they will continue to lead their enforcement strategy to dismantle organized crime groups and eliminate the illegal cannabis supply.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call provincial police at 1-888-310-1122 or contact their nearest police force.
