Police issue warning after three suspected overdose deaths on Saturday

Regional police have issued a warning to substance users in Waterloo Region after three suspected opioid overdose deaths on Saturday evening.
A spokesperson with the Waterloo Regional Police Service confirms police located a deceased 50-year-old male on Saturday in Kitchener.
Shortly afterwards on Saturday, police said a 19-year-old female was located at a residence and transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The third suspected opioid overdose death is said to be in a 21-year-old woman, located at a residence in Kitchener.
Police are urging anyone using drugs to visit the Consumption & Treatment Services – located at 150 Duke Street West in Kitchener, or to use with a trusted partner. The CTS site is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m seven days a week, operated by Sanguen Health Centre.
Services include supervised consumption, supports and referrals, harm reduction supplies and wound care.
In addition, those using opioids are being reminded by police to always keep naloxone, and to know how to administer it.
