Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Kitchener collision (update)

A 60-year-old man from Oxford County is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Kitchener.

It happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday, in the area of Ira Needles Boulevard and the off ramps to Highway 7/8.

The man was operating a motorcycle. Police say it was travelling north on Ira Needles when a pickup truck exited the highway and was turning south onto Ira Needles, when it allegedly crossed into the path of the motorcycle. The man was ejected from the motorcycle.

The alleged driver of the pickup, a 31-year-old woman from Oxford County, was transported to hospital.

Ira Needles was closed for several hours for the investigation.
