Highway 7 back open following serious crash Wednesday morning (update)

***Update: The highway reopened around 4 p.m. Wednesday. It was closed for around seven hours while police investigated***

A portion of Highway 7, between Kitchener and Guelph, was closed for roughly seven hours Wednesday following a serious collision.

Ontario Provincial Police say a transport truck collided with a courier van in the area of Woolwich-Guelph Townline, around 9 a.m.

The highway was closed between Shantz Station Road and Wellington Road 32.

Ornge air ambulance confirms it transported a man in his 30s to Hamilton General Hospital, with critical injuries.

Police say the other driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are also asking any witnesses, or motorists with dash cam video of the collision to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
