Five facing charges after police seize guns, other weapons and drugs

A big find for Waterloo Regional Police.

Officers seized a modified sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, a switchblade knife, expandable baton, pellet gun and suspected fentanyl, during a drug investigation.

It follows the execution of a search warrant by the Drugs and Firearms Unit, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team, at a residence in the area of Marshall Street and Weber Street in Waterloo on Tuesday.

Three men, who are 24, 36 and 50 were arrested – along with two women, who are 24 and 39.

They face charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

No names have been released.
