Drugs seized during Kitchener traffic stop

A Kitchener man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in the city on Tuesday.

The vehicle was pulled over on Activa Avenue.

During the investigation, police seized suspected cocaine, alprazolam and cannabis.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis over 30 grams, driving while suspended and novice driver — presence of drugs.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

The traffic stop was initiated as a result of a suspicious person report on January 7 in New Hamburg.
